FEATURES

Nations | Player-built and owned cities complete with Walls, Turrets, Harveters, Workshops, Houses, and other structures.

Engagements
| Common and randomly occurring events that change based on players’ response.

Skills | Over 100 Combat, Social, Rogue, Crafting, Medical and General skills with 15 advancement tiers in each.

Combat | Two combat modes: RPG Mode for traditional MMORPG feel, and Action Mode based on player skill.

3-Faction PvP | Join and go to war with the One World, One Nation faction, the Free People’s Republic, or form your own independent Rogue Nation.

Housing:

The Repopulation will offer 3 housing options for players to choose from: instanced housing, persistent world housing, and player city housing. Instanced plots will be available for the OWON and FPR factions along with an option for players who are not aligned with either. The factions will not share instanced housing neighborhoods. Each instance will have small to large plots available for players to place homes. These instances will create small neighborhood communities within the instance.

Crafting Attribute System

Each resource in the game used for fittings has primary stats that are directly associated to that resource in some fashion such as Physical Resistance, Accuracy and so on. These resource attributes are not randomly assigned. Each material has multiple attributes that are assigned into 3 categories: Primary, Secondary, Tertiary. Primary attributes have the highest values (typically 7-10) with secondary in the middle (4-6) and tertiary at the bottom (1-3).

These values are static so a chunk of calibrite will always have the same attributes, but it can have a random grade value associated with it that impacts the rarity and significant worth of the material (grade A being the best).

One of our goals is to create a fairly complex crafting system. Our economy and ecosystem are designed around the idea that there will be no moderate to high end fitting drops, facilitating a fully player driven world. We feel this will provide a diverse crafting experience, offering both a quick learning process and the complexity of refinement and producing sought after end products along with a high level of customization that will satisfy players of all backgrounds.

Combat Mode

Skills Oriented Combat

While we allow players to master many combat lines, they will only be able to take full advantage of one combat tree at a time. This is because most combat abilities are tied in to a certain weapon type. There are exceptions, but for the most part your weapon of choice will determine the combat role you are playing. Mastering multiple trees will give you the option of playing additional roles effectively, but not all at the same time. Switching weapons during combat will come with a penalty, to encourage players to act in defined roles.

Each skill type serves a particular purpose. Here is a basic overview:

Assassination is a stealth and positional related tree that emphasizes massive initial damage if correctly prepared, but which leaves players vulnerable when they do not have the element of surprise. This is your traditional Rogue damage type.
Aerosol weapons or Flame Throwers are used for low-medium range cone of fire effects. They typically do most of their damage over time, rather than in initial damage, and can also be used to deliver nerve or other gas types.
Automatic Rifles are short range weapons with a fast firing rate. They are useful for crowd control (Suppressing Fire), feature some wide area damage options, and are best against lightly armored enemies.
Axes specialize in melee range Area of Effect attacks and are the most effective weapon against medium armor.
Grenades are medium range Area of Effect weapons. They can be equipped for a variety of different effects such as Stun, Smoke, Incendiary or Fragmentation.
Launchers are siege weapons that have a very long range and a low rate of fire. They can also be used for Area of Effect damage, but their slow firing rates make them primarily a weapon to be used against Vehicles or Structures.
Blunt weapons are brute force melee weapons that specialize in overpowering attacks that can break through opponent’s defenses or stun them. Blunt weapons are the best melee weapons against heavy armor.
Martial attacks are hand to hand combat types and some of them can be performed with other melee weapons at short range. One of the main benefits of martial abilities is that they can accomplish many different types of special effects and create openings.
Handguns are medium ranged weapons with a moderate rate of fire. They are the only ranged weapon which can be dual wielded. Handguns provide decent penetration against light and medium armor.
Rifles are long ranged weapons with a moderate rate of fire. They are more accurate than handguns and are the weapon of choice against heavy armor when using a firearm.
Shotguns are ranged weapons that work in a short range but can damage multiple targets. Shotguns are very good for dealing area of effect damage, but are not as effective against a single enemy.
Bladed weapons are melee weapons which provide a good balance between offense and defense. They are a general all-purpose melee weapon.

Action Mode (FPS)

We have 2 distinct combat modes in The Repopulation, RPG Mode and Action Mode.
RPG Mode is similar to what you seen in traditional MMOs. You select abilities to use on your current target by clicking on ability buttons from your action bar.

Action mode allows you to play in a style more similar to a First Person Shooter. You aim and shoot rather than selecting abilities from an action bar. Action Mode also allows for command stacking abilities where you can map mouse/button clicks to perform certain abilities and move on to the next one, if the first one is unavailable. Action mode is typically done in first person, but can be done in 3rd person as well.

Both modes work similarly behind the scenes. Neither provide a significant advantage in combat. Increased mobility and targeting may be advantageous for PvPers trying to flank an opponent, but it is not a true FPS system. For instance, collisions are not being processed by the server. Targeting is done client side and if a target is found during action mode it is sent off and processed, if not, then the action is ignored or an alternative action is decided that makes sense. The goal is to provide alternative play styles for those who want something a little different out of their approach to combat while trying to avoid giving an extreme advantage to one system over the other.

The plan right now is for the game to be free to play, with the usual gameplay enhancements for sale, such as bank and player inventory space and minor short-term boots such as minor XP gains, etc. and cosmetic items, but nothing that will provide players with a strategic advantage.

The Repopulation is a massive undertaking. I was frankly blown away that a small independent studio was attempting this. Player driven events, player created cities, customizable pets, siege engines, the list goes on. They plan to go into beta at the end of 2013, so if any of this appeals to you, there is a ton of information and a beta sign up at http://www.therepopulation.com/ .

BETA NEWS !
We have received word from The Repopulation team that they are ready to announce the next beta date and to release a bit more information about the Steam Greenlight campaign.

Happy holidays everyone. We have a few quick announcements to make that I am sure everyone will be interested in hearing about.

Closed Alpha Round 3 now has a set date and it is March 2014. All Closed Beta Round 1 (before it was labeled Guaranteed Beta) backers will be getting a preview weekend during Closed Alpha Round 3, Beta Preview backers will get 2 weekends, and Beta Preview + backers will be let in the first weekend and will have access from that point onward. A few lucky people will get in before that as we will be letting another batch or two in before Round 3 starts.
All Kickstarter backers as a small token of our appreciation will be granted Closed Beta Round 1 access.

This mostly impacts everyone below the $50 pledge level during Kickstarter as everyone above it had Closed Beta Round 1 or better. This is only for Kickstarter backers, you will still need Closed Beta Round 1 access to quality in the post Kickstarter backer rounds.
We are in the process of launching a new Kickstarter campaign that we expect to start during the week of Christmas. We have many cool features we are going to be looking at adding as part of stretch goals and those who are looking to back us or bump up existing pledges will be able to very soon. You should see the new video and a lot of new information and videos coming out during the Campaign, so for those who like a bunch of constant updates and features, you will be getting a lot.
In parallel with Kickstarter we will be launching a Steam Greenlight campaign. It is an excellent opportunity to support the game and help us draw a wider audience by getting involved and helping to get The Repopulation greenlit.

We want to thank everyone for a great 2013. It has been a productive year and we are looking forward to 2014 and what it will bring.

Net even naar die housing video gekeken. Hoopjes mogelijkheden.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/therepopulation/the-repopulation-a-sandbox-mmorpg?ref=card

Momentopname 27-12-2013.

Hahaha!

Heel even in het speelmodel gedoken.

We are what is called in the industry a Free to Play (F2P) title. We distribute the game for free and you can play it at no continuing cost. Obviously, the game will not last very long if no one pays any money so we sell memberships with additional perks.

Silver Membership
Additional Character, Inventory, Bank, Shared Bank, Mission, and Auction Slots.
Access to City Council and Nation Leadership options.

Gold Membership
More Character, Inventory, Bank, Shared Bank, Mission, and Auction Slots.
Ability become a city mayor and run a player city.

Platinum Membership
More Character, Inventory, Bank, Shared Bank, Mission, and Auction Slots.
Ability to create a new nation.

Via Steam Greenlight alvast mijn support gegeven.
