Battlestar Galactica star Richard Hatch dies aged 71

BATTLESTAR Galactica star Richard Hatch has died aged 71.

The actor, who was best known for playing Captain Apollo on the TV series passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was best known for his role in the sci-fi classic, but began working in television in 1970 when he joined the cast of “All My Children.”

The star was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a TV series in 1979 for his role in Battlestar Galactica.

Richard went on to write and produce, as well as starring in The Love Boat, Baywatch, Dynasty and Santa Barbara.

He also made several appearances in ’80s shows, such as “Murder, She Wrote” and “Fantasy Island”.

He worked right up until his final illness and appeared in Stlanta at Dragon Con last September.

The star spoke about his new sci-fi film Diminuendo at the convention.
