Rivervale to Antonia Bayle Server Merge

Rivervale will merge into the Antonia Bayle server on January 18, 2022.

On Tuesday, January 18, 2021, characters on the Rivervale server will be merged onto Antonia Bayle.

In order to make the transition as smooth as possible, we've pulled together an FAQ that will help answer questions you may have about the merging process. If you have any additional questions about the merging process, please let us know on the forums! We'll keep the FAQ section below updated accordingly.

FAQ

General

Q: What is a server merge?

A: During a server merge, all characters will move from one server to another. In this case, all characters from Rivervale will be moved to Antonia Bayle.

Q: Will there be free character transfers off Rivervale before the merge?

A: Right now, if you log in to your character, you will find a character transfer token that will allow you to pick the server to which you wish to transfer.

Q: What will the server be named after the merge?

A: The server will retain the name Antonia Bayle.

Q: How will we be able to retain names if others have the same name?

A: In the event of duplicate character names during a merge, priority will be given to the character who has logged in to the game within the past sixty (60) days. If multiple characters have logged in within the past sixty (60) days, then the character which was created first will retain their name. Other same-named characters will have a "Z" (or several) added to their names automatically until their name is unique. Each player that is auto-renamed this way will get a free rename potion so that they may change their name.

Q: If my character’s name is taken or modified, will I be able to pick a new name?

A: Yes, every character that is automatically renamed will be granted a rename token to use at your convenience.

Q: Will there be any elimination of characters altogether based on level, cash reserves, etc.?

A: No, there will be no elimination of characters.

Q: Should we clear our mailboxes out before the consolidation happens?

A: Mail will get transferred over to your new server.

Banks

Q: Should I take the things I have in the bank or shared bank out?

A: There is no need to take anything out of the bank or shared bank. All items will be transferred over completely. If you delete all characters on Rivervale before the merge, your shared bank will still appear on Antonia Bayle in the overflow items window.

Guilds

Q: What happens to items that I own, but I’ve placed in my Guild Hall?

A: Players should pick up soulbound (NoTrade) items from shared housing (such as Guild Halls) BEFORE the merge. This will prevent losing ownership of placed items during this merge.

Q: Should I be emptying my guild hall so I don't lose the furniture I crafted and placed there?

A: No, all guilds and guild halls will be moved onto the same server. All housing will be moved as well.

Q: If our names change, how will the members of our guild know who we are? How will the guild still be together if everyone is renamed?

A: In the guild roster everyone will keep their notes, rank, and anything else tied to that character. If a character is renamed it will be automatically updated in the guild rosters. All characters that are auto-renamed will have the option to do a free name change. If the free name change is used it will automatically update the name in the guild roster as well.

Q: How will you handle guild names?

A: If two or more guilds have the same name at the time of the server merge, the oldest guild will keep the guild name, and we will append "Z" to other guilds with a conflicting name. If this happens to your guild, you will be offered a free guild name change.

If you have a free guild name change, to select a new guild name the leader from a guild can use the command /guild rename.

If there is no leader in your guild, /initiate_guild_leader_vote can be used by guild officers to help guilds choose a new leader.

Q: Will any guilds be deleted?

A: Guilds will not be deleted during server merges.

Housing and Player-Designed Dungeons

Q: Does housing stuff all have to be packed into the moving crate for each house? Will housing templates be saved? (How do you do that? I forgot!)

A: Nothing should be lost during the merge. It's always good to save your housing templates, however it should not be required. If you'd like to save your housing template, go to your house, open the house window, and hit save. It will prompt you for a template name. Enter a name, and then click 'Okay'.

Q: I have numerous dungeons that are used for storage for my decorating items. Will we need to move items from dungeons to a house prior to the merge?

A: No need to; they will all get moved to the new server.

Q: Will paid house rent transfer?

A: Yes.

Q: Will depots transfer?

A: Yes, personal as well as guild depots will transfer.

Q: Will player written books and housing trophies be safe in your house, or should we move them to our bags/bank/house vault?

A: They will be safe in the houses.

Q: Will housing trophies still have our house info and date obtained on them, or will they now be blank?

A: They will still have your house info and date obtained.

Q: Are objects in our moving crates safe?

A: Yes.

Q: What if we've used a house item expander? Will our expanded items be safe?

A: Yes.

Q: Is it safe to assume that the files in our saved house layouts within the EQII folders will be preserved?

A: Yes, they will still be there. Just remember to not delete them off your hard drive.

Q: Do we need to empty house vaults?

A: No.

We're proud to announce that our next expansion, Visions of Vetrovia, is coming! You’re going to need to be prepared. While many of you have had your attention focused on the Celestial landscapes and the threats therein, others have never stopped looking across the vast oceans of Norrath. An enterprising captain by the name of Douglan Wakerunner is convinced there are uncharted lands still waiting to be found! He has convinced the Far Seas Trading Company to invest in his endeavor and is now looking to hire a few good adventurers to join his crew.

Adventure Awaits!

This prelude adventure includes three new repeatable tradeskill quests, four new adventure quests (three of which are repeatable), three new collections, and an event merchant featuring 19 new items including a new mount and a new recipe book! It will all begin once you log into game and check your in-game mail.

Be sure to visit Aariena Glitterflitter, the Swimming Oak Merchant, located near the docks in The Village of Shin. She has an impressive list of new items as well as some recognizable ones from previous events. Items are available for exchange using Bobbing Acorns.

Get ready to set sail for what will surely be an epic adventure! The Prelude begins after scheduled downtime completes on September 14, 2021 and will go until we release the next expansion.

EverQuest 2 - Update Toil and Trouble

Dr. Arcana has something wickedly magical to show you.

The hinges creak as the weathered wooden door to the small residence opens, breaking the old woman's concentration. She had been working with this Lost Age text since midday, meticulously translating it. Now she looks up from the scroll that was rolled out across the desk in front of her to focus her good eye on the cloaked figure standing in her doorway, silhouetted by moonlight.

"Get in, get in. 'Fore the guards wander by. Good for takin' bribes, bad for keeping secrets."

The door closes gently behind the youthful woman as if pushed by invisible hands, and she brushes some of the desert sand off her dress. "I was not seen, Auntie Grimm, no. Not by the skygazers, either."

"Mmm, hmmm. You're looking refreshed, Sister Belladonna. A bit of huntin' along the way?"

"Beauty and a pinch of flirtation can open as many locks as magic," Belladonna says, with a wink towards the wrinkled and stooped woman. They both know the truth though, she simply loves the feeling of being youthful, again. Sure, a tonic can ease her aching bones, a balm might help to dull the fires in her joints, and the right tea can energize her for a span of time, but true youthfulness? It is a cure-all, wasted on the immature and underdeveloped. She is doing so much more with it than they would have.

"Being frail and feeble, that's what makes one invisible in this world. Can't see the power we tap, the knowledge within. Too distracted with the reminder of their own mortality."

"Either way, they underestimate us at their peril. Isn't that right, Oopsie?"

At his mention, a vibrant blue frog with yellow spots on its back leaps off Belladonna's shoulder, where it had been hiding behind her bouncy cascade of ebony curls, and lands in her upturned palm. An effortless move for the woman and her beloved familiar.

"You didn't weather the Burning Seas to exchange idle chat, I hope." Auntie Grimm clicks her tongue, as if in punctuation. A cold fire lantern hanging behind a carved wooden screen answers, casting intricate shapes across the myriad of archaic and mysterious objects in the cluttered apartment. Belladonna picks up a golden femur, inlaid with elegant silver runes, and turns it over, attempting to act casual.

"Odelia did it." Belladonna said as she looks up from the bone, her eyes twinkling as she shares the news. "She was right about Somborn. The Erudite labs are now open to us!"

"The ancient incantation and Envar rune worked." It wasn't a question, but Auntie Grimm waited for Belladonna's acknowledgement.

"Yes, you were right, of course. They were the keys to opening a stable portal into Ultera."

"Good. Now it's up to the Vodlaks. If they succeed, Ballentree will get what she needs. And we will be one step closer."

In the Loping Plains' village of Somborn, a society of secretive witches and warlocks—known as The Dreadfell Coven—have opened a portal to the Erudin experimental labs of Vasty Deep located somewhere within Ultera. The labs had long been a hidden temple for the amoral exploration of magic and science as well as mutation and intelligent design, often performed on living creatures. And sometimes with monstrous results even after Odus' displacement! Driven by their incessant desire to expand their proficiency in the arcane, the Dreadfell Coven are on a quest for knowledge and items. Nothing is too foul, or too holy, for their interests. They are seekers of artifacts and knowledge with no respect for ownership or ethical usage. And now this clandestine coven is in the middle of a raid upon the labs.

It'll be up to you to seek out the enigmatic Dr. Arcana to find out what adventures lay ahead.

Voor mijn 3e character wil ik een buff class character en dan kom je uit op de Troubador of Dirge.

Troubador = buff class voor spelcasters (Priest & Mage Classes (*))

Dirge = buff class voor melee classes (Fighter & Scout Classes (*))

De vraag is welke is handig voor de Guild ?

Priest Classes = Fury, Warden, Inquisitor, Templar, Defiler, Mystic, Shaper, Channeler
Mage Classes = Warlock, Wizard, Coercer, Illusionist, Conjuror, Necromancer

It's time to celebrate Heroes' Festival!

From Today until November 16, 2020, at 11:59 PM PT, you can join in on commemorating EQ II's 16th birthday at the one and only Heroes' Festival! If you're eager to start celebrating, make your way over to Qeynos or Freeport.

Once you're in town, you'll be able to join in on the fun. Firstly, pay a visit to the band of traveling play-actors in Mischeva’s Clothworks. Each year, this wayfaring group brings the stories of Norrath's past to life. You can also gallivant around Norrath to defeat the clothwork bosses and earn Mischeva’s Tribute, which you can spend on items from the festival merchants!
Wondering what new things are in store this year? For starters, new Heroes’ Festival items are available from the event merchants in in Freeport and Qeynos. Use your Tokens of Heroism to purchase decorative items!
