Summit 2007 Los Angeles Saturday May 26th (held at Celebration IV)

Random notes:

Dathomir got a balance pass week and devs suggested we go back and check it out. Rancors used to be wussy but now are tough. They said the enzymes are better on that planet now too.

Class 1 Liquid Petro Fuel used for the BM crafting may get changed to generic Liquid Petro Fuel due to poor quality and sometimes no good spawn ever to even use a crate on. They got a lot of messages about that.

It takes about 57,000 units of resources to make a pet.

They are not going to instance DWB or Geo Cave. Those players who need to grind have the whole normal places to grind and they can go do their solo stuff there. DWB etc was designed for grouping. As are the elites and Boss Mobs that you now can't snare. They have snare immunities.

New player craftable armor they said they would look into it; however it takes 14 different models because of male, female and all the species issues.

Space - new space content and player craftable ships coming in Ch 8. They can't do capitol ships.

Imperial Theme Park revamp slated for Summer.

They emphaized that every future pub will have the same level of dedication and quality that went into making the Beast Master system. That every pub they will look to adding new content and art work.

The Aurillian Village was plagued with bugs. They asked the audience if they could get the good stuff like Bacta tanks, crystals etc but in another way like another theme park or something would we want that and cheers sounded. So they will look into that, they said.

They had to remove ghosts like Xar Kun from game due to coding and combat issues.

People complaining about having to give up too much to be BM. Devs said you have to make sacrifices but that that allows your character to be more unique. That you as a player are making changes that affect your character and that adds uniqueness.

House Pack up starts with normal Tuesday June 5th server restart. They only allow 10 houses etc per character to allow others to have time / opportunity to participate.

Legacy pets and dna - you need to have pet deed in your inventory to be able to extract dna.

Heroic Mobs - example they gave: group goes down inside NS Cave and the boss isn't there. But there is a box that takes you to an instance where there is a "meanie" and you have chance at pfat loot and badge.

No expansion this year.

They are focusing on bringing back veteran players and not trying to get new accounts. They want the old players to come back and are very happy and upbeat about a lot of the old vets coming back and enjoying the game.

Overall the mood of the attendees was 100% more happier and upbeat from last year's summit in San Diego. The devs still are positive and very into making the game better. They thanked us all, the players, for playing.

I spoke with a few of the devs and mentioned how I sure would (still) like to see new carpets and rugs in game. I mentioned how I brought this up at the SD summit but the dev who I spoke with is onto another game and so maybe that is why nothing came of it. So they said they would look into it. Others asked for new tailor colors and new colors to color couches etc.

I asked about an Elder Robe pocket or something and I should have explained better but they said they would look into maybe a pack or something to be able to carry all the BM enzymes or possibly a storage droid with more capacity.

Droid Commander is a possibility and the attendees cheered when asked if they were interested in that. It would mean new droids and engineering revamp and droids for different functions not just combat and spamming. That they would have droid chassis like Shipwrights do and different mods that you could tailor make your droid. Also after explaining about what Gardening might be like new plants for houses etc the crowd wasn't into that and the devs joked that they would have to think of something else for that year. (something to that affect).

They said the new space content would involve new player crafted ships.

That's all my notes for tonight. I'm too sleepy to continue. All in all it was fun and I am certain the right people are in charge and are taking professionalism and pride in making our game.

The in-game painting summit gift will be a beautiful color painting. All I remember was that it had wookies and a jedi and it was very cool. It was the same artwork poster given away at the summit along with game cards for trivia questions.

I would have liked there to have been server specific tables set up. I only met 1 person from Starsider.

It was fun.

PS> They might change the BM Hydrolases extracting to be based/determined by master loot rights and they said they would look into ways of acquiring it. I mentioned that if in a group only 1 group member can get it.

I also pushed hard for new rugs and carpets and perhaps a color dye kit that we can apply to the rugs and carpets and they seemed interested in that.
