Vanavond een paar uurtjes meezitten spelen en moet helaas bekennen het werkt erg lekker het Apple OS en zit net iets slimmer in elkaar dan windows.
Het installeren van een applicatie is echt een fluitje van een cent. Je download een package gooi je in je application folder et voila geinstalleerd.
Dat is maar een klein voorbeeldje van dingen die net iets slimmer zijn.
Virussen? een apple heeft daar nog nooit van gehoord dus een virusscannerΒ is nog niet nodig voor de mac.
Verder moet ik het allemaal nog uitvinden :).

Hier gaat echt verandering in komen π
dat Mac OS X een goed OS is daar is iedereen wel redelijk van overtuigd maar! gaming en mac is nog steeds een ander verhaal.
Kan je SWG spelen op een MAC? het antwoord hier op is ja en hier is hoe:

1. Bootcamp (best) - I made all my movies and got all my PVP kills this way on a MACBOOK PRO.
2. Parallels/(VMware) Fusion,Β and other products - still weak on graphics support
3. CrossOver (WINE- stands for - "Wine Is Not Emulation" recursive title is a UNIX joke) - this software WRAPS around SWG software and plugs it into the hardware - not 100% yet though but CIDER (based on WINE hehe) is alreayd publishing high profile games for mac.
Drawbacks
1. Bootcamp - I hate restarting.Β Otherwise this is excellent and wors as well as if on a PC. Recommended
2. Parallels 3.0, VMware - both about the same (VM better on graphics) but you share RAM with OSX and Windows AND SWG. Not recommended.
3. CrossOver - My choice for the future. Launches game in OSX, don't have to run windows at all.Β Works fine, but not good enough for PvP.Β This will improve over time too - they already use this technology to bring EvE Online, Unreal Tourny 3, and other FPS to MAC (using CIDER software).
[video Tajiri was talking about] is CrossOver on OSX. Thumbnails too.
Dat ziet er dus veel belovend uit en ga het zeker proberen.
Ik heb ook Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac geinstalleerd en met Microsoft Entourage ( de Outlook versie van Apple ) werkt de email via een exchange perfect.

Das een hele lijst maar het leuk is idisk ! een virtuele disk op internet waar je files naar kunt uploaden en overal dus bij je bestanden kan komen.
de idisk staat ook gewoon in je: Mijn computer als extra disk.
Volgens kan je er nog veel meer mee maar dat moet ik nog uitvinden.
Eerlijkheidshalve heb ik mijn PC niet meer aangeraakt sinds ik de MacBook heb. Lees hier een volwaardige vervanger van windows :).

Zit gewoon in het OS ingebakken. In mijn macbook zit standaard een :
* Superdrive 8x (DVD+R DL/DVD+RW/CD-RW)
Zag al dat je imTOO en Roxio hebt voor de mac.
Ik heb tot nu toe mijn windows machine niet meer nodig gehad.
Ziet er allemaal goed uit.

Icoontje van SWG staat op mijn Dock ;D . Ik moet hem nog testen onder CrossOver for Mac.
Starwars - Empire at War draait in iedergeval niet.
Empire at war heeft volgens mij een Mac versie.
Hij starte wel op maar dan kapt hij er mee :(. Anyway het grappig aan Crossover is dat je helemaal geen Windows op je Mac hoeft te hebben π maar een soort native Windows draait. (Geloof gebaseert op Wine).
Morgen even galaxies testen.
Ik heb toch wat leuke resultaten behaald met Crossover namelijk : STEAM games zie de screenies.
TeamFortress Classic !
Loopt super smooth en een 100fps is niet uitzonderlijk.
TeamFortress 2 !
Is in een window maar is zeker speelbaar ! en dat zonder tussen komst van Windows !
PS: het 3D geweld wat je op een windows machine hebt met een dikke nVidia of ATi kaart kan je op je Macbook wel vergeten want het blijft natuurlijk emulatie π . IkΒ ga zeker op zoek naar meer !!!
Galaxies heb ik nog steeds niet gechecked :o.
Wat ik wel heb gezien dat je een MAC OS X versie hebt van EvE Online en WoW.
