Production has begun on Star Wars Rebels, an exciting, all-new animated television series based on one of the greatest entertainment franchises of all time. Scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel, it will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.
Leading the development of the series is a creative team of exceptional talent. Screenwriter/producer Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class,Sherlock Holmes, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) is an executive producer on Star Wars Rebels and will write the premiere episode. He is joined by Dave Filoni as executive producer, who served as supervising director of the Emmy nominated Star Wars: The Clone Wars since 2008. Executive producer Greg Weisman brings with him a wealth of animation experience with credits such as Young Justice, The Spectacular Spider-Man and Gargoyles.

The action-filled series is set between the events of Episode III and IV β an era spanning almost two decades never-before explored on-screen.Star Wars Rebels takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape. Details about the show are a closely guarded secret at this point.
Star Wars Rebels will be produced by Lucasfilm Animation, featuring many of the key talents that made Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Fans attending Star Wars Celebration Europe will be the first to get an exclusive look at the new series. Casting will be announced at a later date. Brrrr. Dat knipperen helpt goed. Het voelt in ieder geval wel als herfst.
De orignal trilogy era ligt toch meer bij mij dan de clone wars ! dus kom maar op !
Clone beviel me goed, de ene aflevering is de andere niet, maar vooral de aflevering met de Darth Maul of de jonge Boba Fett of met de Dead Watch waren top π Was leuke afleiding allemaal, jammer van het open einde (tot nu toe)
Ik heb toch de moeite genomen om seizoen 1 te kijken en buiten dat het soms kinderlijk overkomt vond ik het wel grappig en vernamelijk om te kijken want er zaten toch wat leuke dingen in die je als Star Wars fan zoals ik graag ziet en zal ze even opsommen:
1. Gebruik van de originele filmmuziek - clone wars was niet het geval.
2. Introductie van de TIE Advanced Fighter voor de Empire.
3. Introductie van Lando Calrissian.
4. Introductie van Grand Moff Tarkin.
5. Verhaallijn, zeker in de latere afleveringen.
6. Rebels is darker dan Clone Wars.
7. Empire Day - doet me denken aan SWG.
8. Terugkeer Ahsoka Tano
9. Introductie Darth Vader - door James Earl Jones
10. Frank Oz met de stem van Yoda
Rebels fan? - zeker niet maar seizoen 2 wil ik wel graag zien.
De pilot van season 2 kan je al downloaden, die is erg goed!
Het verhaal van Ezra is een beetje Cheesy maar overall is het een leuke star wars serie. 1 van de dingen die ik grappig vind is dat de imperial troop transport erg gebaseerd is op Vintage Star Wars van Kenner uit de jaren '80
en ik ken iemand die de vintage variant heeft π - Kuch *Abib*
Die, ja... die ziet er inderdaad erg bekend uit! π
Verder werd Tarkin in Clone Wars al geΓ―ntroduceerd, zij het nog iets lager in rang....
Rebels moest toch ook iets meer weg hebben van Ralph McQuarry's schetsen?
@Dash ja dat klopt - kijk maar de tekeningen van Mc Quarry.
@Abib - misschien was introductie van Tarkin ongelukkig gekozen maar hij heeft in de serie Rebels de rol die je ook kent vanuit New Hope.
Vind het een vermakelijke serie. Het is Star Wars! En ja ik wacht al maanden op seizoen 2.
The Mandorine
Star Wars Rebels maar weer eens aanhalen hier.
Waar ik met seizoen 1 nog een beetje moeite had, is seizoen gewoon velen malen beter.
Darth Vader maakt zijn entree eind seizoen 1 en de opener van seizoen 2 "The siege of Lothal" waar Darth Vader een grote rol speelt, is erg fijn kijken vind ik zelf.
Ook de oude characters uit The Clone Wars die hun entree maken vind ik persoonlijk erg fijn. Clone Commander Rex, en wat te denken van de volwassen Ahsoka Tano π
Ik heb even de tijd genomen om een begin te maken aan seizoen 2, en we kennen allemaal de B-Wing fighter wel toch? Hier kom je erachter waar die vandaan komt π
In 1 van de laatste episodes, geloof die van verleden week, was ook te zien dat Princess Leia haar opwachting maakt!
Ook de Sith Inquisitors maken het leuk, check deze "Mid Season" trailer.
