EQ2 Christmas Quest - The Tale of the Gigglegibber Grump

This is the Frostfell holiday quest. The Frostfell elves say that the Grump has taken over their home and kidnapped their leader, Lord Bowsprite, and ask your help in finding him, saving their land, and returning all of the missing Frostfell presents.

To receive the quest, talk to Pinchy Presentpeeler in West Freeport or Qeynos Harbor. He tells you that the Gigglegibbers might know where Lord Bowsprite is. The Gigglegibbers are the lotto goblins, so head to Nektulos, Thundering Steppes, or Maj'Dul to talk to one of them.

The lotto merchant tells you that their hideout is on the sea floor, under the docks in the land of fairies and halflings. He also said I will have to take a boat to get there. Sounds like Enchanted Lands.

Swim under the dock in Enchanted Lands and click on the thing that looks like a manhole cover. It takes you to The Gigglegibber Hideout, and instanced zone. A guard just inside the zones tells you that you're not supposed to be there and to go see the King immediately.

When you talk to the King, he says you can have Lord Bowsprite and gives you the key to the vault room, down the hall, where's being kept.

Go back to where you entered the hideout. Open the door on the side and enter an area with lots of goblins and a cage holding Lord Bowsprite. He tells you that a rude fairy locked him in and to go back to the King to find out how to get him out. The King tells you to go talk to Snoseniffer. Snosesniffer is on the platform with the mayoral candidates. He'll help you if you solve four puzzles, one each from the Blacksmith, the Ballot Counter, the Weird Gnome, and Imadeus, the Band Leader.

The Weird Gnome needs coal to power his underwater machine. He offers you the Subterranean Underwater Vessel quest. Get 20 coal from any tradeskill instance, the cheapest variety. He also gives you a Bag 'O Goblin, which will transport you back to the hideout when you have the coal. You really need 5 stacks of coal, not just one stack as he first tells you. After you give him the coal, he asks you to crank the S.U.V, his contraption. Target the S.U.V and right click to crank it (or just use the F key). It will eventually start (actually, it catches on fire). Grab the key that falls to the ground to finish this subquest.

Talk to the Ballot Counter to get the Gigglegibber Mayor quest. Right click on the ballot box next to him to count the ballots. Just keep going until you get the key. Then tell the Ballot Counter who won.

Talk to the Blacksmith in the room where Lord Bowsprite is, and tell him how to make realistic looking fake coins to get the Making Coins subquest. Go get five carbonite clusters and five gold clusters. Give them to the Blacksmith to get the key and finish the quest.

Finally, talk to Imadeus the Band Leader. He wants you to tap out a tune on the pots nearby. Take the spoon, equip it, and try to reproduce the pattern it shows you. It's hard, but you can make it easier by just hovering your mouse over the pot you want to hit and use the F key. Also, you might find it easier to memorize the sequence if you letter the pots from A to D, left to right, and just memorize the letter sequence.

You should now have four keys. Go to the vaults next to Lord Bowsprite and right click on each to get a puzzle. Solve the puzzles and then right click on the cage to let Lord Bowsprite out. Talk to him, and he asks for your help in clearing out the Grump. Talk to the King again and he tells you about Grimagus, the Grump, and gives you a book. Return to the elves. (If you Call spell isn't up yet, check out the manhole covers in the hallway to get to Commonlands or Antonica. Actually, it takes you right back to the elves.)

Talk to the Elves to get the Removing the Grump quest. They hesitate to send you to their home, but finally agree, as long as you're willing to collect fairy magic to protect yourself. They give you a nice Elfin Snowball Satchel to help protect yourself. It inflicts 53% cold damage on the target if it's a frostfell fiend. Once you collect all the elf magic and approach the magic barrier, Lord Bowsprite appears and offers to send you over the barrier to talk to Grump. He makes a rainbow bridge to get you to the other side. Talk to Grimagus, and he'll explain that he's angry at not getting presents when he was younger. You can talk him into giving the presents back if the elves will be nice to him. Talk to Lord Bowsprite to get him to agree. Then talk to Grimagus and receive the quest reward, a Frostfell Elf Cap of Superior Warmth. Don't forget to click on the present on the ground to get a Freeport or Qeynos Snowglobe for your room.

Rewarded Items Frostfell Elf Cap of Superior Warmth
A Freeport Snowglobe
A Qeynos Snowglobe
